Here are the RULES of the GAME:
- You Set the chairs up at least40 feet apart. If you’re a PRO, go out further.
- Play 1 on 1 or up to 4 on 4. Teamates play on the same side of the field. You weight out the sides as you see fit.
SCORING POINTS:
Throwing the ball into basket for a Touchdown is 6 points
Throwing and hitting any part of the chair, is a Completion worth 3 points.
On the DEFENSE: The defending team can catches the ball after it hits the chair and take a knee for 3 points. The ball must hit the chair and cannot be the result of a deflection after it hits a defensive player. The Defense can also choose to return the ball. Wherever they are downed, they get 1 attempt to throw the ball towards the chair for points.
AFTER SCORING A TOUCHDOWN:
After you score a Touchdown, you kick the ball from the T. You score 1 point if you get the ball through the uprights. If the ball lands in the bucket however, that’s called a “FITZ”. That’s an instant WIN for the kicking team. The game is over!
If the ball goes wide of the uprights, it becomes a live ball. The Defense can catch and return the ball.
You must score 54 points to win. You also need to be ahead of your opponent by 2 points.
A HAIL MARY:
You can win the game with a “HAIL MARY” if you’re behind by more than 8 points, when your opponent hits 54. Step back the number of steps equal to how many points you are behind. You throw the ball from there. And if you make it into the bucket, you win!

Michael and Frank Silva are the creators of the QB54 football game. The idea was born out of their Thanksgiving Day tradition. After dinner they would go out to the backyard to play. They set up 2 garbage cans several yards apart and then take turns throwing a football into the cans to score points. The first one to get to 54 points won.
